What we believe
We believe in the value, potential and richness in communities.
OUR STRATEGY
Improving people's lives through Missions and
running young women entrepreneurship program
Lulu Thamani is a Swahili name that means Precious Pearls. We believe in the value and richness in communities. Unearthing this, rural communities can grow in harmony and work collaboratively to improve their well being by running Missions with Purpose. This is why we exist.
Lulu Thamani was founded in 2014 and legally registered in April 2015 as a Community Based Organization and transitioned to a Social Enterprise in 2018. We carry out programs that ensure the communities’ unique richness, collaboration and trust is maintained by involving community leaders in our events planning. We run our work through partnering with healthy rural community churches as religious institutions play a great role in community growth in Africa.
We seek to empower individuals and groups of people with the business, social and spiritual skills they need to effect sustainable change within their communities. By 2023, we aspire to reach rural and undeserved communities in all 47 counties in Kenya through our work. So far we our work is in 6 counties, 8 community representatives in the various areas. The counties are Kwale, Kilifi, Kajiado,Nairobi, Uasin Gishu and Nakuru. We also hope to reach other communities in East Africa countries during this period.

We run projects such as:
1. Equipping women groups from rural communities with business and leadership training, helping them to have long term stability other than depending on short term donations.
2. Carrying out marketing and funding activities to help the small business owners develop their ventures and run sustainable businesses.
3. Bringing churches closer to the people through church planting missions. We believe healthy churches are instrumental in growing healthy communities.
4. Strengthening these churches through evangelism, discipleship training conferences and periodic support visits.
5. Equipping the church leaders with skills on how to effectively lead their congregation, the elderly, the youth and Sunday School.
