Women Development Program is a transformative initiative dedicated to uplifting women and girls in our communities. We focus on ending gender-based violence, promoting girl child education, and empowering women through skills training and economic opportunities. Our mission extends to building healthier communities by addressing women’s health, emotional well-being, and leadership development.
We believe that when women rise, communities thrive. We implement community-level initiatives that remove barriers to women’s leadership, education, and entrepreneurship. Since inception, we have delivered over 120 community programs, including:
– Community basic needs projects like Water Well projects where it’s a woman/girl’s task to fetch water daily, which would take them 4hrs daily to do.
– Sanitary Towels Project where we fund-raised for sewing machines that is currently running.
– Other continuous projects we run include Medical Camps to improve daily living conditions, Sports Championships to raise awareness about women’s contributions to community resilience among others.
– Governance and Leadership Advocacy, working alongside local chiefs to advance women’s participation in decision-making.
– Volunteer Program, enabling individuals to be part of this work, by mentoring youth and contribute to community development projects.
When such provisions exist in these communities they contribute to freeing women’s time for business and education.
